What Cor v0 is.
Cor v0 is a proof of concept. It demonstrates that a formal, evidence-traced specification of the human motivational-emotional architecture is possible to build. It is not the specification itself.
What v0 demonstrates
The atlas structure works. Foundations derive into convergences, convergences force mechanisms, mechanisms predict applications. Every claim can trace down to a primary source. The derivation chain from ontological frame to mechanism-level prediction is tractable.
The 14 mechanisms (v4) and their derivational logic are the strongest part of v0. They will carry forward into v1.
What v0 is not
The data quality of the current atlas is not at a standard that would survive academic peer review. Extractions contain errors. Some sourcing is unreliable. The evidence base needs to be rebuilt from scratch by researchers with domain expertise, not cleaned up.
v0 should be read as a structural prototype, not as a citable source.
Cor v1
The authoritative Cor will be built ground-up by an academic researcher at postdoc level or equivalent, with expertise in evolutionary psychiatry, behavioral ecology, or a related field. The builder will have primary responsibility for evidence quality and methodological rigor.
v1 will be funded under the SFF Main Track grant. Maarten Rischen orchestrates; the academic hire builds.
Is this made by AI
The specification — the thesis, the mechanism architecture, the foundational thinker selection, the derivation chain, the whole intellectual direction — is human. AI tools were used to build the database, write code, and process literature at scale. Any data quality problems in v0 are partly a consequence of that process.
v1 will be built by an academic researcher with domain expertise, also using AI tools, but with the methodological rigor to catch what v0 didn't.
Why publish v0 at all
Because the hardest thing to prove about a new kind of research object is that it can exist. v0 proves that. The structure, the derivation chain, the mechanism architecture, the atlas format — these are the contribution. The data is the part that needs proper execution, and that execution is what the grant funds.
